Your browser has not been checked for parasites, because JavaScript is disabled.

For technical reasons, the automatic-detection feature on this web page can only work with Internet Explorer on Windows, when "Active scripting" is enabled and "Download signed ActiveX components" is not disabled.

If you are an IE/Win user, you can turn JavaScript on (temporarily is probably best) by going to Tools->Internet Options->Security->Internet Zone->Custom Settings and setting ’Active Scripting’ to ’Enable’ or ’Prompt’. Then reload the page.

 Adware & Spyware detection

This page contains a detection agent that will have notified you if you are infected by some of the most common types of browser based Spy/Adware parasites. Even if you do not show visible symptoms of parasites you may still have some present. Mangolab recommends that you install and run Spybot by Patrick Michael Kolla. This is a free and very powerful anti-intrusion tool (although we recommend you support the product's continual development by making a small donation). You should bear in mind that some programs bundle certain types of 'legitimate' spyware/adware as part of the deal for using them (this is rarely explicit in their license agreement!); removing associated settings or components may prevent the future use of the host application.

 Virus & Intrusion detection

Having a firewall and running Antivirus software help protect you from known and common attacks. You should ensure that your software is updated regularly (and ideally automatically). It is important to realise that these tools do not guarantee your security by themselves, and should be employed as *part* of your anti-virus and intrusion-protection strategy. If you do not have a strategy then you may wish to review our guide to basic security or contact us for a more tailored security review.
