Sharing user profiles
Previous  Top  Next

ALP does not currently support networking or multi-users. However, if you wish to set up user profiles on a designated administrative master machine (DAMM), you can easily copy and transfer the user profiles to another machine.

Simply:
·Choose a machine to set up your user accounts on (this will be your DAMM)
·Install ALP and create your user accounts on your DAMM
·Install ALP on the other machines you wish to use it on
·Copy the file Users.dta from the ALP program file directory on your DAMM
·Replace the equivalent file on your other machines with this file

Please note:
Once subsequent changes are made to the user profiles on each machine, these will diverge from the DAMM unless you repeat the above process after each change. Ideally all changes should be made on the DAMM and then redistributed to other machines using the above process.
