Vacancy for ASP.net c#/SQL-Server Developer

SORRY, THIS POSITION HAS NOW BEEN FILLED...BUT THERE WILL BE MORE...

We have had an overwhelming response to this post and we're sorry but this particular position has now been filled. However, we are always on the look out for talented C# developers and envisage many new roles using the skills outlined below coming up over the next six months. Although no specific role is available at the moment, we would love to hear from you if you've got magic fingers and you would be a good fit with Mangolab. So please take a few moments to email us your CV and your contact details so that we can get in touch with you when the next position becomes available.

About the job:

A role creating and developing complex Asp.Net applications with SQL Server back-ends for a range of customers including charities, media companies and manufacturing companies. Many varied and rich applications often using cutting edge approaches and technologies. Working remotely from home or home-office. Sometimes working in a small friendly team, sometimes developing alone working with a project manager (still with scope to bounce ideas off other developers).

About you:

You will have good experience developing C# Asp.Net web applications using SQL Server back-ends (stored procedures etc) - from start to finish. You will be a good programmer with excellent attention to detail. You will have a love of problem-solving and computing and will have a good knowledge of XHtml, Xml, Css and emerging web technologies. You will need to be motivated, self-starting and above all enthusiastic. You will be a UK resident, ideally located in London or near South East London as you will need to attend occasional project meetings.

About your experience:

When presented with a specification document you will be able to build a C# web application running a SQL Server database from scratch; you will have expert knowledge in all areas of the technology required. You will also need to to show us relevant examples of your previous work (though these need not be for large or commercial projects). Please note that we are not looking for junior programmers with gaps in their knowledge, we are looking for experienced developers, at the top of their game, who wish to build on their existing skills and help build bigger and more advanced projects.

Working from home/home-office:

Some developers find working in a home-office more difficult than they'd expect; they may have trouble with motivation or they find the walls closing in and miss the hubbub and interaction of an office. Other developers love the opportunity to cut-out a couple of hours of commuting time and the associated cost of travelling to an office; they love the ability to work without interruption in a comfortable environment of their choosing with music blasting in the background! This does not mean that you are isolated working on a project, far from it, we like to talk on a daily basis and meet-up regularly to discuss progress, brainstorm, bounce ideas about and drink absurd amounts of coffee. But we also give you the space to go in to the "silver box" to zone in on solving problems and writing code, undisturbed, when you want to. To know which type of person you are, experience working from home/home-office may be helpful.
