ALP update status - a patch is available
24.06.05 - ALP patch - Version 1.49
This patch fixes problems experienced when running ALP on Windows XP:
- as a Windows user with limited permissions
- as (1) when installing a license
- with a screen resolution of 800x600 or with enlarged fonts.
Please note:
- ALP is not currently supported for Windows Vista, Windows7 or higher OS
- You must have used the default paths when you installed ALP (or you will need to edit the patch extraction path)
- ALP is not intended and was not designed for use as a networked application (although it can run on a networked PC)
- NT/XP users must have *LOCAL* ADMINISTRATOR access when installing or patching
- This patch is provided as is by Mangolab Ltd on behalf of the DA, and is installed entirely at your own risk
How to install the patch
Please read carefully before installing the patch:
- ALP must be closed before you attempt to patch
- Download the ALP patch - Version 1.49 (« click to download)
- Before running the patch you MUST be logged in to your PC as a Windows *LOCAL* ADMINISTRATOR
(NB Having Network permissions to this effect may not be sufficent, you might need to logout & login *LOCALLY*)
- Double-click/Run the patch while logged in to your PC as a Windows *Local* Administrator
- Once the patch is installed run ALP at least once as a Windows *Local* Administrator
You can now login normally and run ALP
Patch Troubleshooting
- Not having genuine *LOCAL* Administrator permissions is the most common reason for patch failure
- So please ensure you are not logged in to any network, and are logged in to the PC as a *LOCAL* Administrator
- Once patched, you must also *RUN* ALP at least once as a Local Administrator after applying the patch
- If the patch fails to open and you get an error message, copy the file to c:\temp and retry
- You must have used the default paths when you installed ALP (or you will need to edit the patch extraction path)
- The download is a patch so ALP must already be installed but not running on the PC
- If at all in doubt of any of the distinctions/terms above please consult your IT Advisor
- if you experience problems (or would prefer to receive this update on CD) please contact the ALP helpline
