The Dyslexia institute ALP updates  ALP update status - a patch is available 

24.06.05 - ALP patch - Version 1.49 (« click to download)

This patch fixes problems experienced when running ALP:
   1. as a Windows user with limited permissions
   2. as (1) when installing a license
   3. with a screen resolution of 800x600 or with enlarged fonts.

 How to install the patch 

Installing a patch is very easy but if you do not feel confident about any of the directions below then we recomend that you install Mangobot instead. More details are given below but basically Mangobot is a free utility that will automatically install this and all future ALP updates for you.

To download and install the patch manually, please read the requirements below and then click on the download link above. Whenever prompted choose 'Run' or 'Open'. If the download fails, click the link above again but this time choose 'Save' or 'Save to disk'. Save the file to your desktop and when it has finished downloading, click 'Open' (or double-click the file).

Requirements:
  • ALP must be completely closed before you begin the download
  • you must have used the default paths when you installed Alp (or you will need to edit the patch extraction path)
  • NT/XP users must have Windows Administrator access before patching
  • the download is a patch so you must not uninstall ALP; just download and open/run the patch
  • if you experience problems (or would prefer to receive this update on CD) please contact the ALP helpline

Mangobot from Mangolab  ALP automatic updating with Mangobot 

If you would prefer your updates to be installed automatically, you can download and install Mangobot, Mangolab's tasking robot, for free. Mangobot runs in your system tray and periodically checks for online ALP updates, downloading and installing any patches automatically. Please note that Mangobot is not a DI product and so is not supported by the DI. In addition, Mangolab support of Mangobot is reserved for Mangolab customers. As such, if you choose to download and install Mangobot please be aware that you do so at your own risk, without any rights to support.
